We are proud to be affiliated with the following philanthropic organisations. Each of these entities offer fantastic opportunities for FECRI to cross promote the Cycle Classic ride, along with brilliant competitive and recreational rides across Australia all year round.
Amy's Ride Geelong, 2 January 2013, is a mass participation recreational ride held around the scenic Bellarine Peninsula. The ride follows the route of the first Amy's Ride held in January 2006 following Amy's tragic death in July 2005. This route was planned by cycling local and legend John Trevorrow who's company Cycling Events Downunder is contracted to deliver the 2013 Amy's Ride Geelong.
The event is held in conjunction with the iconic Jayco Bay Criterium series providing added interest for the participants, and an opportunity to witness Australia's (and the worlds) cycling elite at their best.
As well as having a variety of courses to choose from (28km, 70km, 120km) plus a kids loop in Eastern Gardens supported by free AustCycle Clinics, participants are joined on the ride by some of Australia's top professional men's and women's riders, and cycling identities such as Robbie McEwen, Rochelle Gimore and Phil Liggett.
On Sunday 10 March, you get 13 hours to prove yourself. This is the SCODY 3 Peaks Challenge, Australia’s most challenging one-day ride.
If you’re up for it, you’ll tackle a 235km course through some of the world’s most picturesque and challenging terrain, with three major climbs: Tawonga Gap, Mount Hotham, and the beast that is the back side of Falls Creek.
You’ll have the opportunity to ride on the back wheel or alongside a 3 Peaks Pro Team member and you’ll have Bicycle Network Victoria as your domestique. But staying ahead of the Lanterne Rouge and that 13-hour cut off is up to you and your determination.
